DO THIS:
CELEBRATE HOW FAR YOU'VE COME |
Last year about this time I wrote
"Celebrate Your Accomplishments." I think it's a worthwhile
ritual, so I'll ask you to do it again this year.

Sadly, most of us think of time going by
with a list of things we didn't get done. Maybe you wanted to start an
exercise program, get into a national show, or have your work purchased
by a museum. Maybe you didn't get what you wanted this year, but you
probably achieved more than you think you did. End the year on a
positive note by recording your achievements, breakthroughs, and
milestones. You should start it right away so you have time to
add to it. Mention those things in your personal life and career that
have had a positive impact.
Need help? I include a list that can
serve as a starting point.

KNOW THIS |
Every action you take to advance your art
career is a reason for celebration. |
|
THINK ABOUT THIS |
You owe it to yourself to celebrate each
baby step. This gives you permission and motivation to take the next
step. |
|
DO THIS |
Celebrate how far you have come. Can you
come up with 100 things you have achieved this year? They don't have to
be earth shattering. They just need to get you closer to your goals and
dreams. My list numbers just over 30 so far, but it's a start.
Look at your goals from last year (you
have them written down, don't you?!). Then, have a celebration for
yourself. Uncork a bottle of champagne; relax in a candle-lit bubble
bath; treat yourself to lunch; buy a new plant; or get a manicure. However
you choose to celebrate, you deserve it! |
