Carolyn Edlund

About My Guest

Carolyn Edlund is the Executive Director of the Arts Business Institute. She spent 20 years as a self-employed artist running a production ceramic jewelry studio. She and her staff participated in over 200 retail fairs and wholesale trade shows, selling her line into more than 1,000 store, catalog and online accounts. Her experience includes hiring sales reps, selling to major retailers and internet sales.

When she closed her studio in 2001, she went on the road representing art publishers, and greeting card and paper lines, earning “Rep of the Year” status by opening a record number of retail accounts. Since 2009, she has written hundreds of articles for artists and craftspeople on developing product lines, and marketing and selling their work. She recently wrote a course on marketing for artists, and regularly provides business consultations to creative entrepreneurs.
